What is CBD?

Inside hemp is a compound called β€œcannabidiol,” or CBD. CBD is an extract of hemp, but it isn’t the only cannabinoid. Cannabinoids are found in both hemp and marijuana plants β€” researchers have isolated 113 different cannabinoids to date. The most commonly known are THC and CBD.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

A group of cannabinoid receptors located in the brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems. This system is being researched for its role in overall homeostasis β€” an example of homeostasis is the body regulating its temperature.

Researchers have observed that our bodies produce endocannabinoids naturally for our cannabinoid receptors, and that some people supplement with exogenous cannabinoids from sources like hemp.

What is CBG?

CBG (Cannabigerol) is the mother molecule to all cannabinoids. It starts off as CBGA (the β€œA” is the inactive acidic part), and as the plant matures it converts into either CBDA or THCA.

This conversion happens inside the plant and will stay THCA, CBDA, or even CBGA until it is extracted and winterized, turning it into CBG, CBD, or THC.

What is CBN?

CBN (Cannabinol) is an aged cannabinoid derived from THC. THC can be converted into CBN by a few methods, most commonly using heat and oxygen.

What is CBD Isolate?

CBD isolate is isolated CBD, extracted from a hemp plant using an ethanol extraction process and other refinement techniques to produce pure CBD isolate.

CBD isolate is a building block for many other CBD products. It is what we use in our CBD shatter.

What does β€œfull spectrum” mean?

When a CBD product is made from the whole-plant extract, it’s called full spectrum because the cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plant compounds are captured in the outcome.

When pulled from the whole plant, the cannabinoids work together in what’s known as the entourage effect.

The hemp plant has over 100 cannabinoids β€” CBC, CBG, CBN, THC, CBD, and many more, some more recognizable than others. Full-spectrum CBD made from industrial hemp must comply with federal hemp regulations.

What is dabbing?

β€œDabbing” is the verb β€” you are doing something with a β€œdabber,” a tool (usually metal) that you place a concentrate onto. You heat an element called a β€œnail,” and inhale the vapor.

If you are looking for more information about dabbing, check out our step-by-step dabbing video.

What is CBD Shatter?

CBD Shatter is CBD isolate infused with plant-based terpenes. It can be used for dabbing or on top of a bowl.

To browse the current CBD Shatter lineup, see our CBD Concentrates shop.

What is CBG Oil?

Our CBG Oil was our first attempt at a unique tincture experience. It pairs CBG with CBD.

The product uses natural plant-derived terpenes and natural flavors. Try it in 500 mg, 1000 mg, or 2500 mg strengths.

Do you offer wholesale pricing?

Yes β€” visit our wholesale portal for current pricing and minimums.

Where do you source your hemp?

We work with trusted hemp farms and extract labs to source high-quality hemp for our product lines.

Since 2016, we’ve been working directly with farmers and processors who share our commitment to quality. We focus on partners that specialize in extracting premium cannabinoids to a tight spec.

We also collaborate with extract labs for minor cannabinoids like CBN isolate and CBG isolate, as these require specialized equipment and volume to produce kilogram quantities to spec.

What’s the best method of ingestion?

It depends on what you’re looking for. Tinctures (CBD or CBG oil) start with a half-dropper under the tongue. Gummies are an easy daily option (30 mg of full-spectrum CBD per piece). CBD bath bombs (100 mg) are a relaxing option, and the EndoBloom CBD skincare line covers topicals.

How do I read a COA?

COA stands for Certificate of Analysis. A valid COA from a reputable third-party lab answers:

  • How much CBD is in the product?
  • How much of each of the other cannabinoids?
  • What is the terpene profile?
  • Is it free from contaminants and pesticides?
  • Is the product within acceptable limits for heavy metals and microbes?
  • What carrier oil is used?

Look for the Cannabinoid Profile, Heavy Metal Analysis, Pesticide Analysis, and Terpene Profile sections. COAs guarantee transparency batch to batch.

Will I get high?

No. Steve’s Goods hemp products comply with the federal hemp definition. Our regular batch testing verifies cannabinoid content, and every batch’s COA is available for review.
