CBG Products
CBG β cannabigerol β is sometimes called the "mother cannabinoid" because CBD, THC, and several minor cannabinoids all start as CBGA inside the hemp plant. As the plant matures, enzymes convert most of that CBGA into other cannabinoid acids, leaving only a small amount of CBG in the finished flower β typically under 1%. That scarcity is why CBG products tend to cost more per milligram than CBD. We grow and select hemp specifically for CBG expression, then extract and formulate to get a usable product on your shelf.
People who come to CBG after using CBD tend to describe it as a different experience β not stronger, not weaker, just different in character. The research is still early, so we don't make medical claims about what CBG does. What we can say is that the cannabinoid binds to different receptors than CBD, it's non-psychoactive, and a growing number of our customers have moved CBG into their daily routine. Steve has been carrying CBG since 2017, longer than most hemp brands.
Our CBG Products β Sourcing and Testing
Every CBG product on this page is made from hemp grown under the 2018 Farm Bill (under 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight) at farms we've vetted for CBG-dominant cultivars. We run extractions at our Louisville, Kentucky facility in small batches to preserve terpene integrity and keep the product fresh on arrival. Every batch is tested by an independent third-party lab β potency, residual solvents, pesticides, heavy metals, microbials β and ships with a Certificate of Analysis available by QR code on the packaging or on request.
No synthetic cannabinoids. No cutting agents. No filler ingredients. What's on the label is what's in the bottle.
Types of CBG Products
CBG Oil
A CBG-dominant tincture formulated for daily oral use. Dropper-based, with MCT oil as the carrier, formulated so each mL delivers a consistent milligram dose of CBG. Common dose range: 10 mgβ50 mg of CBG per serving. Hold under the tongue for 60 seconds before swallowing for sublingual absorption. If you're new to CBG, start on the low end and adjust after a few days.
Full Spectrum CBG Oil
A tincture formulated around CBG but retaining the full cannabinoid and terpene profile of the hemp β small amounts of CBD, CBC, CBN, trace delta-9 THC under 0.3%, and the plant's natural terpenes. People who want the full "entourage" of hemp compounds tend to prefer this format; it carries the plant's natural hemp flavor rather than the cleaner taste of the CBG-dominant version.
CBG Isolate
Pure CBG β a white crystalline powder that's 98%+ CBG by weight, with no other cannabinoids, no terpenes, no detectable THC. Isolate is the format to pick for DIY formulation (blend into your own tincture, topical, or edible), for precise milligram dosing, or if you want CBG without the rest of the hemp profile. Dissolves in fats and oils, not water.
CBG vs CBD β What's the Difference?
CBG and CBD are both non-psychoactive cannabinoids from hemp, but they're structurally different molecules and they interact with the body differently. CBD primarily works through the endocannabinoid system's peripheral signaling, while CBG binds directly to CB1 and CB2 receptors (CBD mostly doesn't) and also acts on alpha-2 adrenergic and 5-HT1A receptors. Neither gets you high.
In terms of what people use them for β CBD is the widely adopted cannabinoid, with years of consumer use and a broad set of product formats. CBG is a smaller, newer market. Research into CBG is ongoing and the conclusions aren't in yet. We sell both because our customers sometimes find one suits a daily routine better than the other, and because hemp's different compounds can be combined (see our Full Spectrum products) to use both together.
Scarcity is the practical difference at the shelf: CBG is harder to produce because the plant only holds onto a small percentage of it. Expect CBG products to price higher per milligram than comparable CBD products β that's a sourcing fact, not a markup.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is CBG good for?
The clinical research on CBG is still early β most of the literature is preclinical (cell and animal studies), not large human trials. We don't make medical claims about what CBG does. What we can report from customer feedback: people use CBG oil as part of a daily wellness routine, often alongside or in place of a CBD product. If you're considering CBG for a specific concern, talk to your healthcare provider first β especially if you take prescription medication, since cannabinoids can interact with the cytochrome P450 enzyme pathway.
Is CBG stronger than CBD?
Stronger isn't quite the right framing β CBG and CBD are different molecules that interact with different receptors. Milligram-for-milligram, you can't directly compare them any more than you could compare caffeine to L-theanine. Some of our customers prefer CBG; some prefer CBD; some take both. If you've tried CBD and found it wasn't for you, CBG is worth a look. If you've tried neither, start with CBD β it's better studied and typically lower cost per serving.
Is CBG legal?
Yes. CBG derived from hemp containing less than 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight is federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill. State laws vary; a small number of states have restrictions on specific hemp compounds or formats. Check your state's rules before ordering.
Will CBG show up on a drug test?
Standard workplace drug tests are designed to detect delta-9 THC and its metabolites, not CBG. A pure CBG isolate product contains no detectable THC and is very unlikely to trigger a positive result. Our full-spectrum CBG oil contains trace THC under 0.3% β with regular, heavy use, that could accumulate enough to register on a sensitive test. If drug testing is a concern, go with the CBG isolate or the CBG-dominant (non-full-spectrum) oil.
