Federal Hemp Ban 2026: What It Means for You (And What We're Doing About It)

Federal Hemp Ban 2026: What It Means for You (And What We're Doing About It)
New federal hemp laws take effect November 12, 2026. Here's what's changing, what it means for CBD customers, and how Steve's Goods is preparing.

I know you've probably heard bits and pieces about new hemp regulations coming this year. Let me cut through the noise and give you the straight facts about what's happening and how it affects the CBD gummies and products you rely on.

What's Actually Changing

On November 12, 2026, new federal hemp laws take effect. The biggest change? THC limits are dropping to 0.4mg per entire container — not per serving. That's a huge difference from the current 0.3% delta-9 THC limit.

Here's why that matters: Most full-spectrum CBD products currently on the market exceed this new 0.4mg total THC limit. A container of full-spectrum gummies could easily have 2-5mg total THC across all servings, which would put it over the new federal limit.

Industry analysts are saying this could eliminate 95% of hemp-derived products currently available. That sounds scary, but I want you to know exactly what I'm doing about it.

I've been in this business since 2016. I've weathered regulatory changes before, and I'm not going anywhere. Here's what I'm already doing:

Complete Product Testing: I'm having every batch tested not just for potency, but for total THC content per container. This isn't new for us — we've always done extensive testing — but now I'm looking at it through the lens of these new regulations. Working with Our Lab: My testing lab is helping me understand exactly where each product stands. The good news? My precise manufacturing process means I can control THC levels better than mass producers can. Reformulation Planning: For products that don't meet the new limits, I'm working on compliant versions. The same quality ingredients (natural tapioca syrup, distilled water), the same hand-crafted process, just adjusted for the new regulations. Supply Chain Review: I'm checking every ingredient supplier to make sure everything in our gummies meets the new standards.

What This Means for You Right Now

Current Products: Everything I'm selling right now is federally legal under current law. Nothing changes until November 2026. Your Orders: If you're a regular customer, keep ordering as usual. I'll give you plenty of notice before any product changes. Product Availability: I'm not pulling anything off the shelves tomorrow. You have eight months to plan, and so do I. Pricing: Compliant products might cost slightly more due to specialized processing, but I'm doing everything I can to keep prices reasonable.

The Bigger Picture

Look, I could get into the politics of this, but that's not my job. My job is making the best CBD gummies possible while following the law. Period.

Congress is debating bills that could change these regulations — the HEMP Act would let FDA regulate hemp instead of banning it outright. But I'm not counting on political solutions. I'm preparing for the regulations as they're written.

Why I'm Not Panicking (And Why You Shouldn't Either)

This industry has always been about adapting to regulations. The difference between companies that survive and ones that don't? Preparation.

I've been hand-crafting small batches for almost a decade. That means I can pivot faster than the big manufacturers. I can reformulate, retest, and get compliant products to market quickly.

Plus, my commitment to quality ingredients and precise manufacturing actually gives me an advantage here. When you make everything by hand and test every batch, controlling THC levels isn't as hard as it is for companies making thousands of gummies at once.

Over the next few months, I'll be:

  • Testing all current products against the new limits
  • Developing compliant alternatives for products that need reformulation
  • Keeping you updated every step of the way

I'm not going to wait until November and hope for the best. By summer, I'll have a complete lineup of products that meet the new regulations without sacrificing the quality you expect from Steve's Goods.

Questions?

I know this is a lot to process. If you have specific questions about your favorite products or what's changing, email me. I read every customer message personally.

The hemp industry might be facing uncertainty, but Steve's Goods isn't. I've been through regulatory changes before, and I'll be here long after November 2026.
