CBN Products
CBN Gummies & CBN Hemp Products
CBN — short for cannabinol — is one of the minor cannabinoids we’ve spent years getting to know on the farm and in the lab. It’s found in aged hemp, forms when THC oxidizes over time, and has a structure of its own that’s distinct from CBD and CBG. At Steve’s Goods, we carry CBN because enough of our long-time customers asked us for it by name — people who were already part of a nighttime routine and wanted something specific to add to the mix. Every CBN product on this page is small-batch, hemp-derived, and third-party lab-tested. We’re Louisville, KY hemp farmers, and CBN is one of the more interesting things the plant makes on its own time.
What is CBN?
CBN, or cannabinol, is a minor cannabinoid that forms naturally when THC ages and oxidizes. That’s why older or properly-aged hemp tends to contain more of it. Structurally, CBN is related to THC but is non-psychoactive — it doesn’t produce a high, and it’s distinct from both CBD and CBG. Research on CBN is still early, and we’re careful not to overstate what it does. What we can tell you is that many of our customers reach for CBN in the evening as part of a winding-down routine, often alongside other cannabinoids like CBD. We don’t make medical claims about CBN; we let the plant and the lab work speak for themselves.
Our CBN Products
Every CBN product on this page is made in small batches using hemp we know. We source from growers we’ve worked with for years, use third-party labs for potency and purity testing, and include a Certificate of Analysis with every batch. You won’t find filler ingredients, and you won’t find mystery sourcing. If you want to know where the hemp came from or what the lab said, the answer is a click away on the product page. That’s the Steve’s Goods way, and we apply the same standard to CBN that we do to every other cannabinoid we carry.
CBN vs CBD vs CBG
Customers often ask how CBN fits alongside the other cannabinoids we carry. Here’s the short version:
- CBD (cannabidiol) is the workhorse — broad, daily use, and by far the most researched of the three. Most of our customers start here.
- CBG (cannabigerol) is often called the “mother cannabinoid” because other cannabinoids form from it as the plant develops. Customers typically reach for CBG during the day.
- CBN (cannabinol) is the niche of the three — it forms as THC ages, and customers most often use it in the evening as part of a nighttime routine.
All three are non-psychoactive, all three are hemp-derived, and all three can be used on their own or together. CBD is the broadest; CBG is the daytime niche; CBN is the nighttime niche. There’s no wrong answer — a lot of our customers cycle between them depending on what they’re after.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does CBN do?
Research on CBN is still in its early stages, and we don’t make medical claims. What customers report is that they reach for CBN as part of a nighttime routine, often paired with other cannabinoids. We encourage you to read the Certificate of Analysis on whatever product you’re considering and talk to your doctor if you have questions about using hemp-derived products.
Is CBN legal?
Yes. CBN from hemp is federally legal under the 2018 Farm Bill, provided the source hemp contains no more than 0.3% delta-9 THC. Every CBN product we sell is derived from compliant hemp and third-party tested.
Will CBN get me high?
No. CBN is non-psychoactive. While it’s structurally related to THC (it’s what THC becomes as it ages), CBN does not produce the intoxicating effect of delta-9 THC.
